Nope! Sorry, that as not a moment of insanity on my part. The Florida Government is giving away 4 lighthouses in the Florida Keys dating back to the 1800s.
Unlike many historical landmarks, these happen to be sitting in the middle of the clear blue sea with no neighbors!
Now there are some caveats... in order to get one for free, you must agree to restore it to its original glory. If you're a great handyman, maybe you can do it on a cheap, but estimates of $4 to $6 million have been given to the state. This does not include the $100,000 to maintain it yearly.
If I destroyed your dream, don't worry, Orlando has plenty of homes on the water (that don't need to have seagull poop scraped off of them).
